Medications are needed to treat sickness and illness. Doctors recommend medications and therapy to speed up the recovery of any surgical procedure. These medications are carefully measure and studied also to make sure for its effectiveness it is also not harmful for the health.

Did you know that certain medications, making such nutritious choices may actually harm you? And that, in rare cases foods can lead to a serious illness or even death?

Chances are you already experience a food-and-drug reaction of the first place. In general, food-and-drug interaction has two categories;

PHARMACODYNAMIC EFFECT- occurs when certain food interferes with how a drug works.
PHARMAKINETIC PROCESS- occurs when the drug is absorbed and then eliminated by the body.

Pharmacodynamics can also refer to the way a good food might increase drug’s effect. Example is if you are drinking caffeine rich beverages while you’re taking asthma drug has a stimulant effect. The result is jitteriness, insomnia and racing pulse.

Grapefruit and orange juice is an example of pharmakenitic process food that contains substance that affect the liver to produce a calcium channel blockers. If you used orange juice to wash down pill, that may thwarted the healing process. They mostly destroy antibiotics in your stomach if mixed with certain drugs.
More common are the less severe interactions that you can experience but they are unlikely to recognize. But rest assures that your doctor makes these dangers abundantly clear to you before taking the medications.

What you can do to head off the reactions?

First, talk to your doctor or pharmacist. Ask question about the proper way to take the drugs. Ask about potential reaction and when and with what you should take it. Have all yur prescription at the same pharmacy if possible. In that way, you will hae the history on file and will be more likely to pinpoint any certain reactions between drugs.  Read and follow label instructions on the prescription also.

Take with food. This usually, means the drug may upset or be irritating to the stomach, so take it with meal or just after one. This will prevent gastric reaction in the stomach.

Take it with water. Translation: Drink full glass of water. Sip is not enough to dissolve the drug. Juice or soda may cause the drug to be broken down too rapidly. Some drugs taken with soda, acidic fruits or vegetable juices, or caffeinated beverages can change the body processes so that drugs can stay in the body long or are not process efficiently.

Laughter keeps your body healthy.
Did you know that laughter too is a good medicine for the physical body? It is now studied for its medicinal properties. It has been find out that it reduces the level of certain stress hormones and boost up immune system.

Laughing releases endorphins. Laughter boost the immune system by decreasing the body’s cortisol levels (an immune suppressor). It releases endorphins, a natural pain killer or analgesic that stimulates the lymphatic system that reduces the stress level.

Laughter lowers blood pressure. Although your blood pressure increases while laughing, it provides healthy blood pressure. Hearty laughter speeds up the heart rate; it improves blood circulation and increases oxygen consumption. It did secrets an enzyme that protects the stomach from forming ulcers. 

Laughter makes you fit. When you laugh, it burns out calories that are equal to an aerobic workout. It is proven way to strengthen your bone and abdomen. It works with other muscle parts also including your diaphragm. 

Laughter makes you feel good. When you laugh, it exercises the lungs. It is a good form of reducing oxygen breathing method. It helps your brain active and alert. Laughing, according to researches, it releases cells that fights free radicals and add days to a person’s lifespan.  It is a fun way to keep you live longer. So, better laugh now.

It keeps you mentally and emotionally healthy.
Laughter keeps you relive from stress. It enhances of feeling or resilience. And it keeps you on focus without distraction. Laughter creates emotional and physical relief while representing optimism and hope.

Humor and laughter are cornerstones of a healthy emotional life. They help you boost your energy level, feel more relaxed, reduce anxiety and diffuse anger. Laughter sustains a more positive mood and reduces the amount of time you spend in the state of irritation, anxiety, and depression.  The sense of humor is one of the powerful tools to make certain that the daily mood and emotional state supports good health. Personality Disorders

When a person is not flexible and maladjusted with an impaired social life including work, that person is suffering from personality disorder. The personality disorders are as follows:

Narcissism

    A certain degree of self-love or narcissism is healthy. However, when the degree is too much becomes unhealthy. Here, an individual has inability to develop or form lasting attachment to others. A person with narcissistic feeling of personality tends to overestimate his ability and then suffers from worthlessness. With this suffering, the individual craves for love, attention, and admiration to bolster his self- esteem.

Paranoid

    A person who is paranoid is suspicious about specific persons of things. He mistrusts everyone even when presented with evidence of truth. He has distorted outlook in life.

Obsessive-Compulsive Personality

    In this field of psychiatry, a person with this kind of personality has limited ability to express warm and tender feelings towards his comrades. His behavior interferes with normal relationships. He is concerned always with fact rather than feelings.

Schizophrenic Disorder

    This disorder has been described as the cancer of mental illness, with unknown causes. It is also called “spitting of the mind”. It is a kind of disorder where a person has a high distorted sense that impairs his perceptions, thinking, emotions, speech, and physical activity. It is prevalent among urban poor due to the greater stresses of poverty. The cause of illness may relate to joblessness, occupation, and deeper financial constraints due to poverty. Many theories have arisen but there are no conclusive answers about the causes of schizophrenia. There is no cure for this disorder.
    The primary symptoms are: chronic disorder in thinking, accompanied by auditory hallucinations or delusions. The most acceptable approach to a person with schizophrenia is the family behavior- understanding the person with this disorder. The environment must be conductive to the person with the disorder. He or she must have adequate food, clothing, shelter, and medical and psychiatric treatment.

Anxiety Disorders
    There are several categories of anxiety. Among them are persistent anxiety for at least one month and specific anxiety which affect the physical and mental conditions including the emotions of the person. Persistent anxiety which will e experienced by a normal person within the normal condition of his life, while specific anxiety affects a person’s well-being example are phobias, panic attacks, and post-traumatic stress.
    A phobia is a fear of a specific object, activity, or a situation that produces the desire to avoid what is feared. It is irrational behavior. When a person has fear of crowds or an elevator, the phobia is called agoraphobia. The fear of speaking in public is called a social phobia. Phobia can be treated by behavioral method called Systematic Desentization.

Basic Caring Tips for the Sense Organs for your Kids

    The sense organs are important parts of our body especially to kid and growing children who need to take good care of them. Parents should help their children in proper caring of their body and making sure that they are healthy and fit. On this article is a basic caring tip for the sense organs of their children.

Caring for the Eyes

    Eyes are the sense of sight and vitamin A rich foods help making the eyes clear and bright. Eating foods like quash and carrots are recommended.
    Too much light hurts the eyes. Avoiding them looking directly to the sun is advisable and you can use shade on a sunny day to protect the eyes from too much sunlight. The UV rays of the sun will affect their eyesight and yours as well.
    Pointed things can do harm eyes. Be care when you or your child holds pointed objects. Make sure that they won’t put it near their eyes.
    Make sure that your child read under a good light. Avoid reading in a moving vehicle or when they are laying bed. Sometimes dust enters their eyes and makes them feel itchy. Make sure that they don’t rub it. You get a basin of clean water. Let them open and close their eyes in the water.
    If your child’s eyes have defects, consult an eye doctor. They can treat eye disease and defects. They can also they if you child needs and eyeglasses to see well and correct defects.

Caring for the Nose
1.    Use soft, clean cloth or tissue paper to clean their nose.
2.    Make sure that they won’t put any small objects inside their nose.
3.    You can give them a clean handkerchief everyday to cover up their nose.
4.    If they are smelling flowers, let them know not to put close to the nose because there are some that allergic to flowers and may cause irritation.

Caring for the Ears
1.    Use and clean cotton buds to clean their ears. Cotton buds will not hurt the inside part of the ear. And keep sharp objects away from their ears.
2.    You avoid them from listening to a very long and loud sound. You can tell them to cover their ears when they are on long and loud sounds.
3.    When taking them to a bath, be careful so that water will not enter their ears. This goes also on going to a swimming pool or a beach.

Caring for the Tongue
Imagine your child’s tongue covered with sores. Do you think they can taste the food they eat? Do you think they can eat the food you prepare well?
Avoid them to eat foods which are too salty or spicy. Salty and spicy foods may harm their tongue. When sore develop, do not worry. Sores disappear without treatment. However, let them gargle water often to ease the pain. When they brush their teeth, let them brush the tongue gently also to make it clean. Most of the bacteria are not found on the teeth but in the tongue.

Caring for the Skin
    The skin is the most exposed part of the body. Germs can stay on the skin and cause diseases like scabies and ringworms. If they have any skin disease, consult a physician right away. Kids are prone to cuts and wounds due to careless use of sharp object. Wash it to prevent infection.
    Walking or playing without footwear may also cause harm on their feet. Protect them from too much sunlight because it will make the skin dry and it will prevent dehydration. Let them take a bath daily. And make sure to put fruits and vegetables on their meals.

2. The health and nutrition of vulnerable groups must be prioritized.
Access to care must be addressed for health status to significantly improve such as primary health care, day-care center and other related health services that would reduce the malnutrition incidence in their respective community.

3. The epidemiologic shift from infectious to degenerative disease must be managed.
Due to the changes of disease that afflicted the people from infectious to degenerative, the government has devised strategies and technologies that would promote effective and efficient monitoring disease prevention and control programs for all kinds of diseases. Immunization is one program of the government to ensure protection from contracting diseases among infants, children, and elderly, and those vulnerable individuals.

4. The performance of the health sector must be enhanced.
In view of the devolution of health services, health education was transferred to the Local Government units. Non-government organizations, the academe, the media, the private sector, and other agencies of government are helping the delivery of public health programs. Social health insurance must be expanded in scope and coverage to reduce family and out-of-pocket expenditures for personal health care.

The alcoholic is advised to stop playing games. Instead, he is advised to rewrite his life script.

Alcoholism

According to medical professionals, alcoholism is not just a social and behavioral problem, but a chronic, progressive, and sometimes fatal disease. Drug tolerance, physical dependency, and disease-like changes in body organs mark it. An alcohol cannot quit the habit, as they are usually alcohol dependent.
